Things to do over Christmas Break! (PS - CCRC staff will be here next week)

Here is a list of things you can do over Christmas Break:

1. Sleep in.
2. Spend quality time with your family.
3. Register to retake the ACT at www.actstudent.orgwww.actstudent.org (Stop by 207 for fee waiver)
4. Work on your personal statement.
5. Finish some college applications.  Here are a few deadlines happening soon:

• University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (January 2nd)
• University of Illinois at Chicago (January 15th)
• Northwestern University (January 1st)

6. Study for the ACT.  Go to www.whatsnextillinois.org to use testGear or sign up for free coaching at www.number2.com

7. Apply for these scholarships:

• Haz la U Scholarship – ($2,500-$15,000 – Due December 31st) 
• USHLI Dr. Juan Andrade Scholarship – ($500-$1,000 – Due December 31st)
• Dell Scholars Program ($20,000 per yr. and more - Due January 15th)
• For Gates nominees only: The Gates Millennium Scholar Scholarship (Full tuition - Due Jan. 10)
• Discover Scholarship Program (For 11th graders only! - $10,000 - Due January 31st) 

8.  Apply on January 1st and be the first to complete your FAFSA.
