AVID has made a partnership with the National Society of Hispanic MBAs in order to expose AVID students to careers in business in light of current data stating Latino students are “under matched” in 4 year institutions as well as known data regarding Latino representation in the business field. This summer, AVID and NSHMBA will execute the Summer Enrichment Program, which will take place during the month of July at DePaul’s Loop Campus. AVID students are targeted as the primary participants of this program. Students will be exposed to business professionals, visit colleges and universities, and participate in a communications, current affairs and college preparation course. This the first year that AVID and NSHMBA will intentionally work together on SEP, and we look forward to having more than 100 AVID students apply for, and participate in, this FREE program.
