Chicago Teens, as of May 10, 2010 summer programs are open for application!

After School Matters is offering paid apprenticeship and internship opportunities for Chicago teens ages 14-18. You must apply for programs online and follow up with an interview with the program coordinator.

Here are the two programs LSNA has available:

LSNA Youth Organizer-Interns
Stipend-Based


Basic Requirements: 16 – 18 years old, permission to work in US
Description: LSNA builds people power to address issues that impact our community like the need for more affordable housing, a fair immigration policy, & breaking the cycle of violence in our lives, schools & streets. Interns learn first hand the many different kinds of skills needed to build positive community change from the ground up!
Schedule: 6/28/2010 - 8/6/2010 [M Tu W Th F (9:00AM-1:00PM & 12:30PM – 5:00PM)]

Mural Minded

Basic Requirements: 14 – 18 years old, ITIN / SS#
Description: The Mural Minded art program is an inspirational and creative art program where teens express themselves through painting and visual story telling. Teens also create an outdoor mural at Kelvyn Park High School highlighting their human potential and multicultural experiences.
