KFC Colonel's "Twitter-Based" Scholarship ($20,000 - Due November 26)... Wow!

Kentucky Fried Chicken and Twitter teamed up for the KFC Colonel's Scholars program.
The application process is now on the "Twitter verse." KFC is asking college hopefuls to tweet why they're deserving of a college scholarship. If you win, you'll receive up to $5,000 per year for the next four years to pursue a bachelor's degree at an accredited public university within your home state.

To win the award, the message must be creative, compelling and short and 'Tweet' (that's 140 characters or less.)
Here's who's eligible for the award:
*You must graduate from high school by August 2011
*Plan to pursue a bachelor's degree at a public, in-state college or university and start no later than September of 2011
*Earn a minimum high school GPA of 2.75
*Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Those competing are also required to include #KFCscholar, which can be included as part of the message.

Tweet examples

Here's an example from SeungYeon Kim, "Dreams of a #kfcscholar are never left unaccomplished, I earnestly wish that my dreams may be fulfilled by Colonel Sanders KFC=DREAM=JOY."

Or you can send a funny message...

"#KFCscholar i've ate the double down and survived, barely, a $20,000 scholarship would be nice for college so i can work on this hospital bill," Tweeted Ty Lang.

KFC will take your Tweets through Friday, Nov. 26. The scholarship winner will be announced on Dec. 1.
