Spend six weeks this summer at Children’s Memorial Hospital Chicago meeting and learning from
nurses, doctors, medical imaging specialists, pathologists, physical therapists & more.
Program Includes: •a full day at the hospital from 8:30 a.m. -3:00 p.m.
•morning sessions with a mix of live presentations
and videos which will introduce participants to
most areas of the hospital
•lunch will be provided in the hospital’s cafeteria
•afternoons shadowing a Healthcare professional in
various departments during the six weeks
•visits to area colleges with nursing programs
•a stipend of $1,000 for full participation
Program Commitment/applicant must:
•submit two letters of recommendation
•submit a two-page essay
•submit an official copy of high school transcripts with grades
•submit latest vaccination records
• participate in an interview with Maria Rivera, Program Coordinator, Children’s Memorial Hospital
Program Requirements/applicant must:
•have a minimum grade point average of 2.75/4.0 scale
•be at least 17 years of age by June 24, 2011
•have a Social Security number
•be Latino and bilingual in Spanish & English
•participate in the entire six-week program
•take a physical, including a drug test, if accepted
The entire application must be submitted by Wednesday, April 13th and interviews will take place that week or earlier.
