S.T.E.A.M. Student Conference for Students Interested in Science or Technology Majors

The Upward Bound Math and Science program, in collaboration and sponsorship from the Chicago Teachers’ Center and Northeastern Illinois University, are holding the 1st Annual s.t.e.a.m student conference.

The s.t.e.a.m student conference is for middle and high school students who attend schools in the greater Chicago land area to foster science, technology, engineering, art/agriculture and mathematics learning through project-based and career-oriented workshop sessions.

When: May 21st, 2011, 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.


Where: Northeastern Illinois University – Alumni Hall/Student Union


Workshop session topics include:

· Keynote address by s.t.e.a.m. professionals
· Student and practitioner led workshop sessions in Robotics, architecture, engineering, mobile app development, game design, digital photography, animation, geographic information system visualization, cell research, sustainable energy design, urban planning development, deconstructing/reverse/reusable engineering.
· Gaming station
· Expo/Fair
