Darius A. Felton Scolarship Foundation

 This annual scholarship will be awarded to four high school graduates that have been accepted and will be attending college in the upcoming fall semester. Each student will receive a $500.00 scholarship to the college of their choice.

Criterion For Scholarship Selection
  • Chicago Public High School Senior
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA/Current transcript required
  • Proof of acceptance to selected college or university
  • Required essay: (500 words)

Select one of the three categories listed below and describe how it affects the community in a negative way, and if you could make a positive difference what would that difference be?

(Essay should be typed and no more than 500 words.)

1. Name several effects that violence has on your neighborhood, if you could make a difference what would it be.
2. What motivating force encouraged you to continue your education? (Teacher, Minister, Parents ETC.)
3. What kind of violence have you witness in your neighborhood and how did it affect you?

Award Category

Students must apply for this scholarship between January 1 and due April 30. This scholarship will be awarded each August. Mail all materials to:
