"Immigrants Aspire!" Scholarship


Entrants must be graduating high school seniors residing in Illinois who will be entering an institution of higher education in the fall of 2012. The competition is open to those who immigrated themselves or with at least one parent or stepparent who immigrated to the U.S. In keeping with the Illinois DREAM Act, legal immigrant status is not required. Students who are naturalized U.S. citizens or were born in the U.S. with at least one immigrant parent are eligible.

Essay Topic and Length

Entrants must prepare an essay of 750-1000 words, in English, on the following topic:

If you could make one major change in the immigration laws, what would it be and why?
