Gates Millenium Scholarship Essay Workshops

The Gates Millennium Scholar Scholarship (Full tuition scholarship - Due January 10)

GMS will select 1,000 talented students to receive a good-through-graduation scholarship to use at any college or university of their choice. Students are eligible to be considered for a GMS scholarship if they: Are African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American; Are a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the United States; Have attained a cumulative high school GPA of 3.3 on an unweighted 4.0 scale or have earned a GED; Complete multiple essays and receive in-depth teacher/counselor nominations (Click here to apply.)

The Office of College and Career Preparation is again hosting 3 www.chooseyourfuture.org">Essay Writing Workshops highlighting the GMS program for high achieving CPS students in the Class of 2011 and providing free professional essay-writing help.

The workshops will take place at the locations below between 4:00-7:00 pm. Students should bring a first draft:
Tuesday, October 12 at Amundsen H.S.
Wednesday, October 13 at Kenwood H.S.
Thursday, October 14 at Hancock H.S.
