Hatch-Billops Scholarship for Theatre Studentsof African or Caribbean Descent
- Open to incoming first year or transfer students of African American or Caribbean descent; preference for a descent of the Middle Passage who was born in the US of Caribbean.
- Based on strong academic record, promise in one or more areas of theatre, and desire to graduate from the University of Iowa with a BA in Theatre Arts.
- Recipients must enroll as a major in the Theatre Arts Department and take at least one course in each of the first two semesters. After that time they may, if they wish, change majors.
- Award: Approximately $1,000 to the recipient in the 2010-2010 academic year.

Applicants should submit a cover letter describing themselves and their high school or college experience, with special attention to their interest or work in the theatre. They should also submit a resume that includes any production experience; a copy of their most recent transcript; and at least one letter of recommendation.
