The Mexican American Legal Defesne Fund (MALDEF) will host its 31st Annual Awards Fundraiser on Thursday, April 21, 2011 and is seeking up to four nominees who are college-bound senior Latino students from Kelvyn Park to be recipients of the MALDEF Outstanding Youth Scholarship Award.
Seniors who are nominated will be evaluated on the following: (1) academic success and (2) commitment to community service (community service is a broad area that may include both in-school and out-of-school activities.
Students who feel that they are strong candidates for the fundraiser are interested must bring to the staff in the CCRC (room 207) the following: (1) a copy of their resume and (2) a copy of their personal statement. If students qualify, they must complete a nomination form in the CCRC, which must be postmarked no later than March 14, 2011.
