IACAC Camp College 2010 at Bradley University

IACAC Camp College is an opportunity for students graduating in 2011 to learn about many aspects of the college search and application process from college and high school counselors. They will also get the experience of being on a college campus - the camp will take place at Bradley University in Peoria, IL. In addition, they will eat dinner in Bradley’s student cafeteria and spend the night in a Bradley University residence hall. Sessions will cover the following topics:
· How do I search for colleges that I’ve never heard of?
· How do I choose which colleges to apply to?
· What do colleges and universities look for in prospective students?
· What is the process for applying to schools?
· How do I pay for college and why might I be able to afford a more expensive school?
· How do I make the transition from high school senior to college freshman - successfully?

Students are expected to arrive by 11:00 am on Monday, July 12, 2010 and will depart after lunch on Tuesday, July 13, 2010.

What does it cost?
Students will pay a $20 fee that will be refunded at the program’s conclusion. Because of the generous support from NACAC and IACAC, the camp can be run at no cost to the students themselves.

Who should apply?
This program is designed for students from non-traditional backgrounds who would benefit from exposure to this information. The selection committee will give additional consideration to students from rural areas, first-generation college students, and students from schools with a low percentage of college-bound students. Students should have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

The application deadline has been extended. Click here to apply and for more details.
